FC Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
