Tributes Pour In for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues persist in remembering the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt able to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has elapsed that I can at last express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began passing more hours together I knew this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the production, remarking that he doesn't recollect "a single day without mirth".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He ended with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with everyone, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles court official ruled to block the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the local authorities.

A legal directive placed a restriction on the cases to limit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the probe.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

Following the tragedy, public personalities offered varying comments.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing controversial remarks that were broadly criticized by several public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the those speaking out last week. Talking on his show, Rogan labeled the comments as "disturbing" and implied they revealed a worrisome deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan finished by suggesting that an associate could have acted when the choice to weigh in on the death was made.
