Trump's Granddaughter Seeks Professional Tips from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA Debut

Young golfer getting ready for major tournament

The rising star maintains substantial online audience

Kai Trump will have plenty of prominent backers as she makes her professional golf debut this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, obtained a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.

Her grandfather, an avid golfer, possesses several courses worldwide and often matches against his granddaughter.

"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we play some close matches," she revealed.

The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Simply don't get nervous."

"My grandpa essentially told me to play and have fun," she continued.

"In my eyes, he's simply a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him quite busy."

Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments in 2024 and has the 461st position in AJGA rankings.

However she can get advice from 15-time major champion, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He is the top athlete in the world," Kai stated.

"Furthermore, he's an even better individual. He suggested me to go out there, have fun, adapting to the flow."

Kai will face multiple the biggest names in the sport at the competition, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

Officials commented that Kai's presence brings the sport to wider groups, especially reaching the next generation.

The social media influencer has millions of followers and just introduced a personal apparel and wellness label.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
