The incident caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.

A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
